Postdoc Position at UCL

I now have a postdoctoral position with Prof. Peter Barker to continue working on applications arising from my Ph.D. experiment. Finding work (paid work!) straight after completing a Ph.D. can be really tough - when you are writing the thesis (basically a book over 100 pages long) the last thing you want to do is write job applications. 

Luckily, the last few experiments I conducted showed great promise with using the whispering gallery mode experiment as a sensor - for many different things! I will use my post-doc to explore those areas and see which one to pursue first. Staying at UCL feels like the right thing to do even though the UK weather can feel like the colour beige most of the time. However, postdocs offered straight after Ph.D.s are only temporary; the pressure is on to find funding for myself!
